Our history in Japan

Our History in Japan

Maple Leaf Foods was the first Canadian pork packer and processor

(amongst the first from North America) to open a representative sales office in Japan.  Since opening in 1980, Maple Leaf Foods Japan has had a long standing history and presence serving the Japanese market.  Maple Leaf Foods was the first Canadian company to introduce chilled pork to the market in Japan and it continues to be a key strategic market for the company. We have a full service office located in Tokyo with expertise in the sales and logistics execution.  In Maple Leaf Foods Japan’s long history, we have built strong relationships with our customers, logistics service companies and our Canadian meat processing facilities.   We are committed to providing our customers with the highest quality products and fully integrated services from our farms and plants to the Japanese market.
